A great set of commercial design and personal illustrations works by Rotterdam, The Netherlands-based artist, Milou Maass. Her works have been used with various publications and companies in the Netherlands, and recently in a group exhibition at PUP Gallery in Amsterdam.

For the 2012 Festival of Lively Architecture (yes, that is a festival) architects Adam Scales, Pierre Berthelomeau, and Paul Van Den Berg created Reframe, a structure that gives the illusion of an 3-dimensional portal. From above, the structure appears to be a well-contstructed cube, but is when you walk around and experience the piece that the new dimensions begin to appear.

Today, much of graphic design is done on the computer. Type, graphics, and lay out are no longer handmade decisions, rather hand-clicked decisions. Letterproeftuin takes it back to traditional graphic techniques and explores the possibilities in this field of old graphic design practices, having designers come together for one week in a self made laboratory.

Ron van der Ende is a sculptor living in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. That is the simple explanation of who he is. But what makes him impressive is that van der Ende specializes in wall mounted bas-reliefs constructed from found wood. He is a photorealistic sculptor using found wood.
