With a hefty price tag of  $7,500 and limited to just 10, this fiberglass bust collaboration between artist, Ron English and Guns & Roses guitarist, Slash is not as easily attainable as lets say a happy meal toy? English worked with Slash to create his recent album cover art for “SLASH & Friends” and with this bust the artist interpreted SLASH’s iconic skull with a top hat. The pieces were made in collaboration with Hong Kong’s prestigious sculpture house, Garage Works, and if you have a large wad of money burning a hole in your pocket then go for it!

We stopped by Corey Helford Gallery for their latest exhibition “Crucifixion,” a group exhibition inspired by the images and symbolic influence of the crucifixion. The exhibition features new works from Glenn Barr, Ray Caesar, Victor Castillo, Ron English, Natalia Fabia, Korin Faught, Sarah Folkman, Nancy Fouts, Eric Joyner, Benjamin Bryce Kelley, Maria Kreyn, Marco Mazzoni, Buff Monster, Annie Owens, Michael Page, Chris Pugliese, Candice Tripp, Mark Dean Veca, Nicola Verlato, Tom Neely, Lola, Tom Bagshaw, and Amy Sol.

Crucial Fiction, is the name of the new solo show of Ron English in New York City at Opera Gallery. After some delayed caused by hurricane Sandy, we finally could look closely to his new series of paintings that address a fantastical question: What might happen if a 50 year old man created what his 8-year old self wanted: a world of cowboys, indians, and a large group of very strange disposable heroes?

Due to superstorm Sandy, Ron English had his new solo show at Opera Gallery in NYC, Crucial Fiction, delayed to Friday, November 9, 2012. As we asked Ron to set the tone for the election season by curating our November Politics and Art issue, we can't wait to see his new body of work open shop in NYC. 

Our November issue curator, Ron English, has painted a giant green muscular baby or as the artist labels it “Temper Tot” on the side of a building in New York making it his first mural in the city in almost 25 years.  The impossible to miss green figure was painted in Little Italy and created in conjunction with the New York Comedy Festival that starts tomorrow running through Saturday.

November 2012 cover artist and curator Ron English is set to open a new solo show, Crucial Fiction, at Opera Gallery in NYC on November 2, 2012. Just in time for the elections, Mr. English. As he notes, "...Give me your imagination, and I'll give you my skills." We're in.

In conjunction with Shepard Fairey opening a new exhibition, Sound & Vision, at Stolenspace in London tonight (and officially, Saturday, October 20), we wanted to publish our recent feature on Shepard from our current November 2012 Politics & Art issue. In conversation with Ron English at the end of August, the interview is a candid talk from two artists who have helped shape a dialgoue of modern politics and art, and have helped foster contemporary street art.

Juxtapoz is in a similar mood, and we brought legendary fine artist and political satirist Ron English to our November 2012 issue to have him curate our special examination of Politics & Art in 2012.

Another year, and another great leap forward for one of street arts now venerable festivals, Nuart. Held each year on the streets of Stavanger, Norway, with a roster of international artists creating public art in an idyllic west Norwegian town, this year also expanded the festival to not only include indoor installations, but a full academic focus on street art as a prevailing means of public art.
