If you’re in Rome this fine Saturday evening, join MondoPOP Gallery as they open Taetrum Et Dulce, a creepy and sweet-themed exhibition curated by Dan Barry and David Vecchiato. Taetrum Et Dulce showcases the artworks of 29 diverse artists from around the globe, with this being a first time for many of the featured artists to show their work in Italy.

We knew Sao Paulo-based Herbert Baglione was off to Rome for the Outdoor Festival as soon as we departed Nuart in Norway, and now we are seeing the looks of the multi-paneled mural he painted in Italy. We always like when Herbert adds the chaotic scratches above his characters, as he has done here with this panel.

Gagosian Gallery will be starting off 2012 with quite a bang, exhibiting “Damien Hirst: The Complete Spot Paintings 1986-2011” across all 11 of their spaces in New York, London, Paris, Los Angeles, Rome, Athens, Geneva, and Hong Kong. This is the first time Gagosian has dedicated all locations at once to a body of work by one artist.

Gianluca Sordi was born in Rome in 1983 and he currently lives and works there. His photogaphs are a combination of his experience as a commercial photographer and his cinematic personal style, thanks to the digital techniques he incorporates for the final outcome. Creating rather unusual imagery, setting natural shapes against dreamlike and unreal palettes, Sordi melts his models within his unconventional concepts.

Making a note of the most famous contemporary artists working today, Japanese artist Takashi Murakami is on that short list. Murakami will be taking his international recognition to one of the world's premier private gallery properties, Gagosian Gallery in Rome on November 13, 2010.
