With Roger Ballen on the cover of the magazine this month, we thought we would take a look back at one our favorite collaborations: Asger Carlsen and Roger Ballen. We are big fans of Asger Carlsen who we interviewed in the January 2013 issue of the magazine. The idea of the two working together seemed like such a natural fit that we were not even surprised to see it. But that doesn't mean we were any less excited to see it!

Christophe Guye Galerie is pleased to present Roger Ballen's upcoming solo exhibition "Asylum of the Birds," which will be the first gallery exhibition of his most recent series of work. We reviewed his newest book in the mag recently, and were lucky enough to have Mr Ballen on the cover of our photography zine in early 2014. Not only will the show feature over a dozen black and white photographs, the film ‘Asylum of the Birds’ as well as a site-specific installation and original drawings will be on view.

Ballen directed the "I Fink U Freeky" video for the South Africans and recently had an exhibition featuring photographs of the group at Mouche Gallery in LA. Here is a collection of his always intriguing work, mostly from his 2009 series Boarding House.
