“The Public Library: A Photographic Essay”

In the visual survey tradition made famous by Bernd and Hilla Becher with their water towers, photographer Robert Dawson set out to photograph some of America’s most intriguing public libraries. In his book titled “The Public Library: A Photographic Essay”, Dawson travelled across the country to find the most unique and eccentric public libraries he could find.
