The prolific global vagabond animal artist, ROA, has recently completed a giant squid piece on a building in Nelson, New Zealand. And the multi-armed aquatic creature appears to be angry and menacing.

A few months ago, an assorted animal pile up that included a rabbit, fox, horse and beaver, was painted by Roa on a local school in Schadekgasse, Vienna. The wall happened with the help of Inoperable Gallery and the financial support of the local government office Kunst im Öffentlichen Raum.

In a surprise when we attended Ferris Plock's opening at White Walls in SF a few weeks back, we saw an amazing, immersive installation created by ROA in the backroom of the gallery. Just stepping into the space was an incredible experience, with so many details and pieces to take in from the constantly traveling Belgian artist. From the press release, its states that Paper Trails is based on "a new collection of animals encountered through the artists' profuse and worldwide travels."

For the past 3 years, we have been invited to Stavanger, Norway to participate in the NuArt Festival, where an international roster of street and public artists convene on the west coast of the country to create a yearly project that combines art, city planning, and good old-fashioned street intervention.
