The last time we featured the work of Ricky Allman, oil was spewing from the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico. We thought he seemed pretty confident despite the omnipresent gloom. We're not sure if the gloom is any less omnipresent these days but we thought we would re-visit the Kansas City-based artist's work. Allman grew up as a Mormon in Utah prepping for Doomsday. When he was 25 and moved to Boston "suddenly the mountains were replaced with skyscrapers and my surroundings felt much more threatening. The architecture felt like it could come crashing down on me any moment."
