This is kind of how we want the world to end. A severed head on a chair in an empty room, depicted by Richard Colman. We don't know if this piece will make it to THIS Los Angeles' one-night gallery show, Judgement Night, but we know there will be some Richard Colman (and others) work at the show.

This past Fall, as we have documented in full, we saw 6 artists off to Detroit to work with Powerhouse Productions as part of our 15th Anniversary Benefit and Auction project. Swoon, Ben Wolf, Monica Canilao, RETNA, Richard Colman, and Saelee Oh all created unique pieces of art in the neighborhood where the money we raised was able to buy property. The local Detroit Free Press just highlighted the project in an extensive article. More information after the jump . . .

We know it's a few days late from the big present-giving holiday of the year, but that doesn't mean there aren't other opportunities to use your old Juxtapoz Magazines as wrapping paper or present-giving decoration. Interesting enough, we do the same thing. More after the jump . . .

We have a bit of history with MSK and Seventh Letter, as we dedicated an entire issue back in July of 2007 that people still talk to us about. One of the members here in San Francsico, STEEL, is opening his first solo show Goorin Bros' spot on Howard Street this Thursday, December 23rd. The name is catchy: The Good, the Bad, and the Cheesy. More details after the jump . . .

Cover artist and participating Detroit artist RETNA has a new video on LA Forward that shows him giving a tour of his mural in downtown LA that he painted with Mac based on a photograph by Estevan Oriol. What was supposed to be informative turns a tad confrontational as a man near the mural starting shouting at the film crew and Retna. Watch after the jump . . .
