Juxtapoz // Wednesday, March 14, 2012
We turn 18 this year. Old enough to join the army, vote, serve on a jury, go to the prom, and, we even think we can adopt a child now. To celebrate, Copro Gallery in Santa Monica will be hosting the exhibition, Juxtapoz Turns 18, featuring works from a group of artists who have been featured in our pages over the past 18 years, including Retna, Todd Schorr, Shepard Fairey, Mark Ryden, Jeremy Fish, Marion Peck, Andrew Schoultz, Camille Rose Garcia, CR Stecyk III, and many others.

Cope2 x Retna in the Bronx

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, March 07, 2012
Yesterday, graffiti stalwarts from NYC and Los Angeles, Cope2 and Retna, collaborated on a colorful wall in the Bronx. As we wrote the other day, Retna was working on the famed Bowery and Houston wall in Manhattan, but found time to make it up north to the Bronx to work with Cope. Good results as always.

In L.A.: Zes and Retna @ Known Gallery

Juxtapoz // Monday, February 13, 2012
We stopped by the opening reception for Excavated Revelations, a two-person show featuring the artwork of ZES and RETNA. Introduced in their youth by their mutual friend AYER, ZES and RETNA led parallel lives through an upbringing in graffiti. Utilizing a fluidity and precision they mastered by painting some of the most coveted walls in the city, their refined technique is now exemplified in this fresh body of abstract work. Photos and more after the jump…
