Revok and the Seventh Letter Crew (Juxtapoz #78) have given Los Angeles (another) an uppercut of graffiti greatness. An instillation of original hand painted billboards in Los Angeles featuring work from the world’s most renowned graffiti artists provides a teaser of what’s to come to the land down under at the “Clash of the Titans” Contest at the end of this month.

In their first collaborative exhibit, Latino painters Mac (“honorary Mexican”) and Retna display several amazing pieces that clearly show how well their individual talents complement each other. The exhibition, Vaigos y Reinas, which translates to Vagrants and Queens, is a retrospective of these two young artists, offering a chance to see examples of artwork from their past, work they share, and solo work of the present.

El Mac (Juxtapoz #103) and Retna (Juxtapoz #78) have risen to worldwide prominence in recent years with their graffiti, murals and canvases attracting massive praise. This superb new book, Alianza, documents the artwork of these two artists over the last six years, and is the first to fully present their collaborative murals.

They have been all over the place together, erecting their now iconographic murals composed of Retna's (Juxtapoz #78) calligraphic lettering and Mac's (Juxtapoz #103) ethereal portraits. Vagos y Reinas, an exhibition of selected works by artists and muralists Mac and Retna is coming to Santa Monica’s Robert Berman Gallery and will mark the first time these longtime collaborators have exhibited in a gallery together.

Reyes has co-curated a skate deck art show for charity at the Modernism West Gallery, located inside the restaurant Foreign Cinema in the Mission district of San Francisco. After asking a few friends to participate, he ended up with a roster that includes: Retna, Grime, Amandalynn, Shawn Barber, Henry Lewis, and Saber among many other talented artists. We were lucky enough to snag a sneak peek of the show.
