Over the past year, Juxtapoz and Converse have teamed on a unique project, Wall to Wall, where we invite an artist in a city in North America to create a semi-permanent mural based around the artist's interpretation of the iconic Converse star. Today, we look back on the piece that Boston-based Caleb Neelon painted in his hometown. We were happy that we had one of our longtime contributing editors, and a big part of our editorial team, Neelon, paint one of the standout walls from the series.

"Penopticon" by Escif

The panopticon is a type of institutional building designed to allow a watchman to observe inmates of an institution without them being able to tell whether or not they are being watched. The architect for this design was Jeremy Bentham who described the panopticon as "a new mode of obtaining power of mind over mind, in a quantity hitherto without example." Here Spanish artist, Escif, applies the panopticon concept to the typical modern family activity of watching television together. Painted in his hometown of Valencia, Spain.
