HANDS Project in Barcelona

Four artists, in a commentary on the economic crisis in Spain, have been placing modled single hands around Barcelona. The project, HANDS, is meant to send a message and raise awareness about the need to alleviate unemployment and poverty. The artists are Octavi Serra, Mateu Targa, Daniel Llugany and Pau Garcia.

Giant Keyboard Sculpture by Anatoly Vyatkin

Russian artist Anatoly Vyatkin has constructed a giant replica sculpture of a Cryllic QWERTY keyboard. in Yekaterinburg, Russia. The keyboard is made from 86 stone blocks each weighing up to 1,000 pounds.  

Saner @ the Latido Americano festival

Inspired by the tradition of the “Yunsa”, a popular festival in many parts of Peru, Mexico City-based artist, Saner, painted the following mural while participating in the Latido Americano Festival in Lima, Peru. A number of his signature styled characters can be seen approaching a tree with gifts ready to hack it down with ether machetes or axes. This is part of the tradition of the “Yunsa” and the artist explains the items that he chose to paint in the tree... 

Low Bros in London

German artists, Qbrk and Nerd of Low Bros were recently in London to participate in the group exhibition “Cosmos” at Top Office Machines. While in town the brothers found time to paint a few walls, one in collaboration with Mr. Penfold. 

30 of Nick Cave's Horses Will Take over Grand Central Station

Next week 30 multicolored life-size horses and 60 dancers will take over Grand Central Terminal. Orchestrated by artist Nick Cave, the horses will graze for a while and then perform a choreographed piece to harp music. Watch a video after the jump!

Philippe Baudelocque is a perfect example of a Parisian creating distinctively unique work and using the very impermanent medium of chalk in the streets. This newest piece is of a large lizard for one of the Le Mur walls.

Vilks paints a story of Conquest

A mural painted by French artist, Vilks, stretches a lengthy wall containing a variety of animated scenes unfolding to tell a story. The plot is of two characters that see a train on another planet through a telescope, devise a plan to build a flying aircraft and set off for this planet. When they arrive they find the train and paint letters on it. Vilks did an excellent job at painting a comic strip on to a wall here.
