Eerily placed in a quiet desert 60km outside of Doha at the Brouq Nature Reserve near Zekreet in Qatar, Richard Serra's magnificent "East-West/West-East" sculpture installation has now been unveiled. We say "eerie" in the Kubrick sense, monoliths left to wonder in a desert landscape, four steel plates that stand 49 feet tall that are set to be permanent fixtures in the reserve for the foreseeable future. Stunning work.

Back in the 70’s and 80’s, Larry Sultan and Mike Mandel were altering billboards with obscure images for the purpose of documenting their work with photos. We have shown you Clement Briend's gargoyle projections on the site before, but we came across a bit more public projection series by the French photographer. Whether projecting on a tree, building, or bedroom, Briend is able to have the surface's detail accentuate the depth of the images he projects. That makes this no ordinary public projection intervention.

If you want someone to come tidy your apartment, we think we have found your man in Michael Johansson, an artist who takes a real-life Tetris approach to both public and fine art. The artist has a knack of compartmentalizing the right objects into the right spaces to create incredible collages of no longer used goods in a colorful, eye-popping way. Michael is featured in our current, April 2014 issue of Juxtapoz Magazine.
