Print Release: Tara McPherson "Safety of Water"

NYC-based fine artist Tara McPherson is set to release a brand new print, Safety of Water, on Tuesday, March 13 at 3PM EST. Taken from Tara's largest painting to date, McPherson is publishing her largest print to date with this oversize giclee, signed and numbered, in an edition of 100.

New 8-color offset lithograph by Alex Lukas (And Process Documentation)

We are huge fans of Philadelphia-based fine artist Alex Lukas, and his feature in the March 2011 issue was on of our favorites of that calendar year. Lukas, who has always had aa unique process with his work, just released an 8-color offset lithograph, made with Amanda D’Amico at The Borowsky Center for Publication Arts in Philadelphia. And, Lukas documented the making of the print, which illuminates some of Lukas' unique style and process.

Audrey Kawasaki "Where I Rest" Open Edition Print

January 2012 cover artist Audrey Kawasaki just released an open edition print of "Where I Rest." The signed (not numbered) giclee print is on archival paper, with the image sitting at 14.75" x 22.25" on 15" x 22" paper. A good one for the collection.

One of our very own in-house designers Brent Gentile just released a new two-color silk-screened edition. The print was inspired by a keepsake that has been handed down generationally from Gentile's grandfather. The lock that is depicted was once used to seal New York City Locomotives.

Shepard Fairey "Occupy Protestor" Print

On January 12, 2012, at a random time during the morning, Pacific Standard time, Shepard Fairey will be releasing a print of his new TIME Magazine cover for person of the year. That distinction went to "the protestor," so Shepard is releasing the Occupy Protestor print.

Tomer Hanuka Limited Edition "Overkill" Book

A few months ago, we announced the release of NYC-based illustrator Tomer Hanuka's new book, Overkill. Today, Upper Playground and Gingko Press have released a limited edition version of Hanuka' book, featuring embossed cream slipcase and  a limited edition Giclee print on archival fine art paper, in an edition of 120.

Jeremy Fish "Time Marches On" Print Release

Jeremy Fish just released a new print, Time Marches On, through Upper Playground. As UP writes, "The theme of the print is about time, and how it waits for no one, and passes us by like a mutherf*cker." That seems about spot-on. The print is 18" x 18," 4-color, printed on French’s 140 lb hot fudge colored paper, and in a closed edition of 100. Signed, numbered, embossed by Mr. Fish.

New Print: El Mac "The Prayer"

Just yesterday, El Mac released 3 colorways of a new print, "The Prayer." All editioned differently, "The Prayer" is available in vermilion red, metallic copper, and a teal blue variant. Printed with San Francisco's Moon Editions, the print is based on the painting Mac created for the New Masters show at Subliminal Projects in LA earlier this year.

Mark Whalen "Geometric Constructions" Print

Mark Whalen (aka Kill Pixie), who will have an extensive feature in the January 2012, just released a new print, Geometric Constructions, through Gallery A.S. The new 3-color offset lithograph editioned by Whalen, exploring the relationships between nature and humans, or perhaps more human-like beings, appears as otherworldly botanical print and reflects Whalen's current body of work.
