Yes, it was a quick month (no Leap Year here), and we are here again to announce another new issue of Juxtapoz. In our April 2013 issue, we are proud to feature legendary fine artist Ralph Steadman and his longtime collaborations with friend Hunter S. Thompson. With contributions from former Rolling Stone editor, Ben Fong-Torres, X-Files creator Chris Carter, and Jux writer Nathan Spoor, we are proud to help usher in a year of celebrating one of the most iconic artists of our times, Mr Ralph Steadman.

Amsterdam-based Parra, a former Juxtapoz cover artist who will also be featured in our upcoming April 2013 issue, is set to open Tracy Had A Hard Sunday, a group of new paintings at Jonathan LeVine Gallery opening on February 23, 2013. The show will be the Dutch artist's first in NYC since 2006.

As you will soon see in our March 2013 issue, we have a great 12-page feature with Los Angeles-based Victor Castillo. We like to call this perfect timing; Saturday, February 2, Castillo will open Under Heavy Measures at Merry Karnowsky Gallery in Los Angeles. The exhibition features 15 paintings on canvas, 10 paintings on paper, 20 graphite drawings on vellum, and an installation of fiberglass sculptures.

As we noted on the site yesterday, Curtis Kulig will be opening a pop-up shop in Los Angeles at Space 15 Twenty this weekend, February 1 and going through Feb 15. The "LOVE ME" Pop-Up and Polaroid Show is curated by Curtis Kulig and presented by Space 15 Twenty, Urban Outfitters and Vans. For the occasion, Juxtapoz has created a limited-editioned cover for the pop-up space featuring Kulig's "LOVE ME" staple. The cover was created specifically for the pop-up, and you can only get it at Space 15 Twenty.

The talented artists are presenting an impressive collection of works and on-site installations that expands their universe into the physical space.

As a prelude to the art fair activity in Singapore next week, Juxtapoz was invited to Singapore with Chandran Gallery for a special private showing of the works of Seattle-based Mary Iverson. With paintings that captures the mystic and power of shipping containers, Iverson's work set in the backdrop of the world's busiest port has brought out the power of the new body of work.

As you may have already known, Haroshi has made an impression on the art world in recent years for his recycled skateboard sculptures. The Japanese artist is set to open a new solo show, Virtual Reality, at Jonathan LeVine Gallery in NYC on Saturday, January 12. The repetition of skating, the craft of perfecting the right trick, comes out in the methodical arrangement of the plywood decks into recognizable characters and shapes.

Richard Heller Gallery is proud to present, The Hand of the Slumber Man, the first solo exhibition at the gallery for Los Angeles based artist, Luke Whitlatch. The Hand of the Slumber Man is a suite of paintings and drawings that evoke the static experiences and moments in time that create myths and legends. These works are about what you thought you saw and how non-visual senses can be reinvented through abstraction. Color, surface and compositional elements act as placeholders for sensory information.
