Juxtapoz // Friday, April 26, 2013
Kicking off the exhibition program at Roq La Rue's new Seattle space in Pioneer Square will be Stacey Rozich's Within Without Me. We have been showing Rozich's work on the site for a few years, but this show is noted for "a jump up from previous shows containing larger, more complex works rendered in her trademark mediums of watercolor and gouache, as well as a deeper, more profound exploration of contemporary global social political themes."

Nacho Guzmán for Opale's "Sparkles and Wine"

Music // Thursday, April 18, 2013
Remember when we just had movie previews at the theater and music videos on MTV? Now we got Daft Punk buying ad space on SNL to tease the costumes they are going to wear in support of their new album, and album teasers that are more creative than half the music industry. Nacho Guzman has created this fantastic teaser for French band Opale, and their new LP, Sparkles and Wine. The effect of the lighting shows you how much a face can change with shadows, color, and some good ol' LED lights.

Europe, be ready.

Preview: Greg "Craola" Simkins "Stop Haunting Me" @ Merry Karnowsky, LA

Juxtapoz // Monday, April 01, 2013

The show will feature a series of new paintings and never-before-seen prints. As Craola told us, " As I painted my pieces for this exhibit, two themes kept reoccurring to me. My twentieth year anniversary of writing graffiti under the name 'Craola"', which I began in 1993, was approaching. It is unbelievable that it is 2013 already. I blinked and 20 years flew by."
