Josh Keyes "Above and Below" @ Joseph Gross Gallery, Tucson

Something for the Arizona crowd to look forward to. Portland, Oregon-based fine artist Josh Keyes will be opening Above and Below at the University of Arizona's Joseph Gross Gallery in Tucson starting on May 21, 2012. As the Gallery notes, "Above and Below dissects into a syncopated and practiced arrangement of uncommon encounters. Keyes’ creatures embody global political and social upheaval while poised to face the colossal summit of civil decay."

Michele Mikesell @ Altered Space Gallery, Venice Beach

Altered Space Gallery opens Michele Mikesell’s latest circus-inspired “Hugo, OK" exhibition Friday, April 6. From 7pm to 10pm, Mikesell and musicians will host a collaborative visual and sound project by artist Dúo del Sol at Electric Lodge. Immediately following the, Altered Space opens their doors for the artist reception sponsored by O.N.E. Coconut Water and limited edition Mikesell prints, signed and numbered.

Los Angeles-based fine artist, Gary Baseman, just sent us a few preview images of his newest exhibition, Vicious, set to open this Thursday, April 5, at Antonio Colombo Arte Contemporanea in Milan, Italy. The exhibition will feature over 30 new works based on the concept of "hunger."

We have grown quite used to seeing the fine artworks of Los Angeles-based artist, that we forgot of the sculpture works of Yoskay Yamamoto. This new exhibition, Joke's On Me, will feature a series of sculptures based on iconic childhood characters, including the Stay-Puff man, Bart Simpson, Hello Kitty and a full collection of other sculptures.

With this being Yosuke's third solo show with Thinkspace, the works finds the artist reflecting upon and strongly influenced by the changes in Japan since the Great Earthquake and Tsunami of March 11th, 2011.

We just stopped by FIFTY24SF Gallery in San Francisco to preview Mexico City based artist Saner newest exhibition, Corazón Sangrante (Bleeding Heart). Opening Friday, March 16, the exhibition features numerous large and small works on paper, a few works on canvas, and series of masks.

Preview: Keith Haring 1978—1982 @ Brooklyn Museum

Opening this Friday March 16th, 2012, the Brooklyn Museum will be exhibiting a large-scale retrospective of Keith Haring's work. The exhibition begins with Haring's arrival to New York in 1978 through 1982 when he began his studio practice alongside public and political work in the streets. Some preview photos of the work and show surfaced on the web today and we are truly excited to go see this show in person!
