Mel Kadel will be opening a new solo show, Stuck On A Wave, at Merry Karnowsky in Los Angeles on October 13, 2012. She recently mentioned in an interview that "If there’s any success within my work, it’s people having personal connections to it." We think there is a ton to connect with here...

Bedlam in Old Vic Tunnels, London

Juxtapoz // Monday, October 08, 2012
For the thrid and final year, Lazarides Gallery in London is set to take over the Old Vic Tunnels underneath Waterloo Station with the exhibition, Bedlam. The interactive, site-specific installation coincides with the Frieze Art Fair, for what we like to call a significant, if not alternative way to see art as opposed to a big hall with booths. This you may see a rat... the show opens October 9.

We just received a preview of the show, capped off with Plock's three boomboxes made in collaboration with Pseudo Studios, which Plock tells us are all "hit with auto paint and made from wood." Preview: TrustoCorp @ The Outsiders, Newcastle

Juxtapoz // Thursday, October 04, 2012
We sat down with one of the key members of TrustoCorp for our November 2012 Politcs & Art Issue, and have always enjoyed their street interventions and political satire. The team will be opening a new exhibition, International Bank of Trusto, at The Outsiders in Newcastle on Friday, October 5, and we got a preview.

Preview: Jason Shawn Alexander @ 101/Exhibit, LA

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, October 02, 2012
[sic] is a new series of large-scale works by Los Angeles based artist Jason Shawn Alexander. They are his most direct and personal paintings to date. The dramatic narratives that are a signature of his work are yielding to the intensity of the figure itself, to the portrait itself.

Parra "Kind Regrets" @ HVW8, Los Angeles

Juxtapoz // Friday, September 21, 2012
We have had a chance to see a bunch of Dutch artist Parra in California this year. First, it was his massive mural and first US museum showing at the SFMOMA that was outstanding, and now, he is back on the West Coast. He will open a new series of works, Kind Regrets, at HVW8 Gallery, featuring acrylic on canvas works and pen on paper.
