Art is Forever is a project by cultural creative, Jason Sturgill, which attempts to foster a more meaningful connection between the art museum and its visitors. Several Portland artists have been selected and given the opportunity to create illustrations inspired by their visits to the Portland Art Museum.

Corey Arnold, the cover of our Juxtapoz Photography book and well-known photographer of various fishing boats and regions of the world, will open a special exhibition, Fishing With My Dad 1978-1995, featuring photographs by his father, Chris, at Ampersand Gallery and Fine Art Books in Portland on Saturday, October 15.

Portland police have blamed the local establishment, Railyard Gallery for inviting and contributing to illegal graffiti around town. The pressure from local law enforcement has resulted in the Railyard Gallery being evicted from their location. The city of Portland has been bulking up graffiti abatement in recent years and have recently passed a new ordinance making it illegal to carry graffiti implements such as spray cans and markers used by people who “tag” public or private property. Police boredom?

The Portland landscaper who designed this row of phallic bushes most likely laughed all the way to the bank. Whether intentional or not, the building looks as though it is being protected by an army of… I wonder how often they are trimmed? What does the person responsible for upkeeping think?
