Lalage Snow is a photographer currently based in Kabul, Afghanistan. This current project entitled Are We the Not Dead shows the soldiers before, during, and after their deployment in Afghanistan from left to right. The images speak volumes on their own.

The exceptionally talented and conceptual muralist, Escif, appropriately titled this mural of equestrian horse jumping Austerity. “Show jumping is a discipline which is a timed event judged on the ability of the horse and rider to jump over a series of obstacles. This discipline is one of the most popular sports and equestrian riders most used today, and is the most modern specialty equestrian sport that has come to turn the classic sport of riding in a spectator sport” says Escif relating to this particular piece.

For those of you who want a more amiable and everyday view into the life our current President of the United States, there is a flickr page that seems to be just the right spot. Obama has plenty of moments that are photogenic and lovable, many of which we have seen before, but the White House's Flickr page is a place where this is perfectly collected and arranged to catalogue snapshots of his personal life as well as his moments at work that are not so explicitly pictured in most media outlets.

Andres Serrano's Piss Christ (1987), which has always been the subject of outrage and controversy for those of the right wing, has now been brought into a new dialogue with an artwork by none other than conservative radio-host (and resident moron) Glenn Beck in his amateurish and kitsch Obama in Pee Pee which is very much just that. The immature title fits quite well, because the ironic gesture is done so on a very low budget.

Today is Election Day, and we look back on Jason Heuser's awesome sereies of reimaging past Commander-in-Chiefs as new and improved superheroes. So, you get JFK as a riding a unicorn on the moom, Lincoln riding a bear with a machine gun and copy of the Gettysburg Address. We want to know what Obama gets if he gets a second term?

As you may know by now, or even purchased and received in the mail, Juxtapoz celebrated the Election season by releasing our November 2012 Art & Politics Issue. Featured in said issue was TrustoCorp, who not only had an exhibition at The Outsiders this Fall, but also just created art for the Rock The Vote campaign (aka, getting young people to get out and vote this November). Juxtapoz had the honor of flying halfway across the world with SABER this past month for Nuart in Stavanger, Norway, and we weren't sure what sort of installation piece he was gonig to create. Fresh off of SABER's skywriting project over Manhattan days earlier, the LA-based graffiti artist and activist remained in a political mood, and decided to not only create a classic SABER piece, but buff it at the opening in front of hundreds of people.

These photographs dating back to the 1910s show mass groups of U.S. military troops organized and photographed by Arthur Mole as well as a few other unidentified photographers. The troops were directed to lay down lace edging via megaphone to create the basic structure of the image.

Tonight, October 29, 2012, Bonhams is hosting the first ever Los Angeles Urban Art auction. The artwork is sourced from owners who go into a consignment agreement with Bonhams. Once the piece is auctioned off, Bonhams and the previous owner share the profit. Auctions have been a part of the overall art market for a long time and some feel they are just a necessary aspect of the business...
