In his series “Through a Glass Darkly”, London-based photographer Nick Turpin captured images of London bus passengers during their nighttime commutes. Turpin explains that the work was created, “In the winter months were made at night from a raised platform with a long lens hand held at 1/40th second, on the limits of what modern camera sensors can record.”

Fifty Shrinks

Starting in 2001, photographer Sebastian Zimmerman created a series of work that is a combination of images and interviews with psychotherapists. The series titled “Fifty Shrinks” gives an insider view of the spaces that Zimmerman’s subjects use to conduct their various methods therapy through a sort of photographic survey. Zimmerman explains, “My colleagues graciously permitted me to make them the focus of this photographic survey.

A highly successful fashion photographer and featured in our November 2014 Picture Book, Sassen asserts that she is unconcerned with clothes and more interested in creating imaginative images. And this is why her personal photography has been exhibited and collected at museum level. She is having her first UK show, Viviane Sassen: Analemma: Fashion Photography 1992–2012, at The Photographers’ Gallery and it will run until January 18, 2015.
