Forgotten and Abandoned Monuments in Former Yugoslavia

Photographer Jan Kempenaers toured the countryside of former countries that made up Yugoslavia and documented old, forgotten monuments. Many of the monuments are WWII and concentration camp memorials commissioned by president Josip Broz Tito in the 60s and 70s. Following the fall of socialism they were and remain abandoned and forgotten.

Thank you Fecal Face, we saw this, too. This is a really slick, beautiful series of photographs that are a collaboration between Bryan Schnelle and fashion photographer Chris Callaway. The result is Vestiges, just some clean shots of models wearing some elaborate masks which make for a nice viewing...

Juxtapoz is on the ground at the annual Outside Lands Music and Art Festival held in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park each August (and that would be Aug 9-11 this year), and again for the third year, we have curated the art portion of the event. This year, we have Mike Shine, Dennis McNett, and Camille Rose Garcia created site-specific installations, but of course, there is a ton of music, and today we are showcasing some of the best music that we might be seeing today... let's gander...

Erik has been on our radar for quite sometime and when we first saw this series, knew immediately that it was right for Reed Projects. Erik is a self taught artist and a recognised (often outspoken) creative force in the regions visual art scene, unafraid to confront and challenge traditional fine art institutions, including those established to support fellow artists, Erik has successfully fought to be formally recognised as a professional artist.

This morning we take a look at the photographic work of Matt Black. Matt Black grew up in a small town located in the vast agricultural areas of Califorina's Central Vallery. Matt's photos are wonderfully composed and both visually intense and emotional, documenting the farming life in rural California and southern Mexico.
