Erotica // Tuesday, December 30, 2014
Let's take a moment to celebrate the color pink, in all its glory, in all its rare use in the natural world or art in general. For some reason, seeing this great series of Pink by Melbourne's Prue Stent made us realize just how rare pjnk is used, or better yet, how rare it is that pink is used well. From Staged Photography, "The themes of her photography center around femininity and the struggle of identity in women. The color pink is used to represent femininity either physically or emotionally throughout her work."

In December of 1972, Marie-Hélène de Rothschild threw a “Surrealist Ball”at the Château de Ferrières, one of the large mansions owned by her family. The invitations were written backwards, forcing the guests to use the assistance of a mirror to read them. The attire required was “black tie, long dresses and surrealists heads.” Upon arrival, the facade of the chateau was lit in red with the effect of making it appear to be on fire.

Rosie O'Laskey by Todd Pendu

Erotica // Wednesday, December 24, 2014
The shoot with LA-based model Rosie O'Laskey and I went quite well as we walked through the backstreets among the warehouses and industrial garages of Bushwick in Brooklyn, NY. Rosie was wearing only heels and a long black coat over underwear and stockings. At times we were shooting her half-naked with workers just around the corner having no idea we were there.
