With a rich history in the arts, Paris has always had an extensive array of talent from its natives. Philippe Baudelocque is a perfect example of a Parisian creating distinctively unique work and using the very impermanent medium of chalk in the streets. This newest piece is of a large lizard for one of the Le Mur walls.

We often post the chalk work of Paris-based artist, Philippe Baudelocque whenever we see something new pop up. His complex designs and patterns used to creat an array of different animals are some of the most interesting work we have seen created with chalk as the medium. The distinguished photography agency, Magnum Photo, had the artist draw this guerilla on the exterior of their Paris office.

We haven’t heard much from Paris-based artist, Philippe Baudelocque, until a local photographer happened by the artist in action. The artist was seen creating two seahorses outside of a retail shop where the interior was decorated with the artist’s renderings of deer.  The complex designs and patterns of Baudelocque’s work are a standout in the streets of Paris.

Paris based artist, Philippe Baudelocque, draws a range of different animals using intricate patterns and designs.  The difference between most street artists and Philippe is that he uses the very impermanent medium of chalk.  His work is reminiscent of a cryptic astronomy chart waiting to be deciphered.  A book of his work is due to be released soon and we are eager to catch a peek.
