A billboard in Los Angeles that was “defaced” by the always-awesome art of Phil Frost was stolen last night and were we surprised? Not really. The fact that Frost is still out there putting in work on the streets is more amazing in our minds. The billboard promoting Samuel Bayer’s exhibition at Ace Gallery was not taken down when Frost painted it, most likely because they have good taste and respect for the artist. Samuel Bayer and Swing Media, the owners of the billboard, are offering a reward for the return of the work. If the thieves who stole it plant to keep it, better have a massive warehouse to properly display it.

In conjunction with the upcoming release of MARLEY, Kevin Macdonald's feature documentary on the life of Bob Marley, July 2006 cover artist Phil Frost participates in this video where he talks about the influence of Marley on his art and career. Normally staying away from the limelight, this is interesting just hear Frost talk about his inspirations and influences. A great watch.

Steve Olson, Alex Olson, Bob Recine have gathered Phil Frost, Curtis Kulig, and Yaniv Evan for a new exhibition, Olson Olson Recine & Ass., at Nyehaus Gallery in New York City. The exhibition's theme is "whether they skateboard, ride or build a motorcycle, these guys have rolling and road rash in common." Or something like that.
