Juxtapoz // Monday, November 25, 2013
Throughout the year we see a lot of products move through the Juxtapoz office, and we decided to pick a few of our favorites and put together a gift guide for your Holiday shopping plans. Let's face it, creative people are hard to shop for, we're picky, right? Hopefully this will help you find that special something for the creative in your life...

In honor of our newest hoodie that we just released on our webstore, we look back on the December 2010 article on graffiti artist, PEZ. Special for the Fall season, Juxtapoz has teamed with two close friends of the family, Dennis McNett and PEZ, for two pullover hooded sweatshirts. McNett's design features his iconic wolf character, made just in time for McNett's solo show at Known Gallery on November 16, and PEZ' graphic is a take on the artist's iconic sticker graffiti style. Both available now in the Juxtapoz webstore.

We got a little sneak peek into Iron To Gold/Ashes To Hope, the special benefit exhibition, installation, and auction in support of an innovative artist-in-residence program in Detroit that Juxtapoz is helping sponsor in collaboration with Chandran Gallery in San Francisco. The artists organizing the event, Monica Canilao and friends, are Bay Area based artists who have since moved and started a residency program in Detroit to bring together fellow artists from around the country to have a meeting place for collaborative projects and creative development.

As last year proved to be a good formula for art success, San Francisco will once again host 3 coinciding art fairs this weekend: artMRKT, ArtPadSF, and the SF Fine Art Fair. We are getting ourselves prepared for a few nights out, a few afternoons out of office, perhaps even a picture or a 100 of all the activity going on throughout the city. A rundown after the jump . . .

The universal language of this video, produced by Mountain Dew in Japan and involving a Magic Box event going on in Harajuku, Tokyo this weekend, is skateboarding and the artwork of former Juxtapoz featured artist, PEZ. The SF-based graffiti artist has his famed pyramids and color style animated for each skater to navigate around.
