When we featured Evah Fan in the magazine back in October 2010, she was living in Stockholm, Sweden, making intricate illustrations that, and as Kristin Farr wrote at the time, were "unintentionally puzzling." Now back living in Oakland, California, perhaps things will get more puzzling or clear as Fan is set to open What Have You at Park Life in San Francisco on August 31.

San Francisco was on the art beat this weekend with 3 different art fairs to attend, and Friday afternoon we made our way to artMRKT, the most internationally represented fair of the trio. From Park Life, to LeBasee, to Daniel Horowitz' fantastic collection of collage and drawings at Muriel Guepin's booth, this year's showing was also SF's most eclectic.

Tonight in San Francisco, Park Life Gallery will be hosting a group exhibition curated by local curator, publisher, and artist, Andrew McClintock.  The show entitled “(Invisible) Relic”, examines works by two generations of California Conceptual Artists working with performative actions and re-appropriated objects in a variety of mediums including video, photographic, audio, sculpture and performance.
