The members of Pal crew have amassed a hoard of rolldowns in Paris with many painted in a square framed format. Yellow and black is getting the job done on this one.

A series of characters interacting with a chair in bizarre ways can be seen in these new wheat pastes by Parisian artist, Phillipe Herard.

We are pretty sure we see parts of cars, machinery, and music notes in this framed piece by Horfe.

This weekend in NYC, one of our favorite graffiti artists, Horfe, will be joining others in a group show at Klughaus Gallery. One of the reasons we have always admired the works of the Parisian artist is his mixture of classic animation and illustration to a public medium, creating a unique and prolific body of work on the streets. Here is our interview with the artist from January 2012.

Les Bains-Douches was built in 1885 as a municipal bathouse and eventually became one of the most popular nightclubs in Paris, a favourite of Mick Jagger, Kate Moss, Johnny Depp, and Andy Warhol. The building was declared a safety hazard in 2010 and closed. Since it's closure, the building's owners have invited 50 street artists to decorate the interior. 

We have posted the hyperrealistic sculptures of London-based Ron Mueck before. His first major exhibition since 2005 opened today at the Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain today. Tonight in Paris, two members of the Pal graffiti crew, Tomek and Saeio, are having an exhibition entitled “Intensia”at Galerie Association D'idées. This short video shows the pair smashing the side of spray can and doing some serious scribbling.

Paris-born artist Thierry Cohen's series Villes Eteintes depicts major cities of the world with no light pollution, no lights of any kind. Thierry employs a technique that requires him to document the exact time, angle, latitude and longitude of each exposure and then track the rotation of the earth to locations with clear night skies such as the Mojave, Sahara, and Atacama deserts. By combining the two images, the photographer has produced a truly profound work that asks us to reflect both spiritually and politically.

We are enjoying the illustrations of Paris-based designer and visual artist Jules Julien. His designs, simple silhouettes, and hyper-realistic vignettes are bold and vibrant. He has done professional work for the likes of Keds, Playstation, Louis Vitton, and Cartoon Network.

This week’s spotlight we feature a unique characteristic of the Parisian graffiti scene that is painted predominately by members of the PAL crew, square framed graffiti, often on roll downs. Crewmembers Horfe, Tomek, Conie, Saeio, Skube, Mosa, Esso, Keno, and others can be seen around Paris in this uncommon format.
