Los Angeles artist road-tripped out to Palm Springs to paint a mural for the Ace Hotel and sit poolside to soak up some rays.

As we have noted and posted about all weekend, this weekend the Juxtapoz team heading down to Palm Springs for our kick-off collaboration with Ace Hotel to have artists paint the Commune Wall at the PS property. After our long weekend curating the art for Outside Lands Music and Art Festival in SF, we are really excited to be kicking off our next project in the California desert. We are very pleased to announce our collaboration with the Ace Hotel, kicking off a mural program this Friday—Saturday, August 17 and 18th, at the Ace in Palm Springs and a new mural painted by Los Angeles-based fine artist, and recent MOCA exhibiting artist, Sage Vaughn.

As part of the Pacific Standard Time exhibitions, Palm Springs Art Museum will be hosting Backyard Oasis: The Swimming Pool in Southern California Photography, 1945-1982. The swimming pool rests at central point in California culture during this time period.
