Troy Lovegates aka Other, recently completed this vibrant mural on what looks to be a construction site wall in Copenhagen. The artist is having an exhibition while in town at the MOHS Exhibit on May 24, 2013 entitled “Shallow Lake.”

When we think of Other’s work we associate it with trains because it’s where we first saw his monikers and they have always stood out amongst the hoards of other doodles. This new piece by him in Chicago is not on a train, but is of a train. The Canadian artist beautifully painted an old steam engine towing a small log cabin and a multi-colored head in an undisclosed location.

  Other aka Troy Lovegates, is offering a three-layer linoleum print for $35 and all proceeds go to help a friend’s family fight cancer. They are 7 x 10 and shipping is included.

Over the past year, Juxtapoz and Converse have teamed on a unique project, Wall to Wall, where we invite an artist in a city in North America to create a semi-permanent mural based around the artist's interpretation of the iconic Converse star. Today, we look back on the mural created in Toronto, Canada by artist Troy Lovegates. Lovegates, who you may know as OTHER, went with his signature multi-colored figurative style, adding a dreamlike, colorful addition to the Wall to Wall project.

n the hopes of funding a trip to attend a residency in South Africa, Canadian artist, Other aka Troy Lovegates, has released a new print through Station 16 now available for purchase. Limited to 50, these 5 color printed are 20 x 20 and come signed and numbered.

Over this weekend, we hope to make new adventures, see something new, and maybe even get into trouble. The work of boxcar artist, Other is an inspiration for all this, well, minus the trouble bit.

We post plenty of work from Canadian artist, Other, for the simple reason that his work is different. It has an old time folky feel (What ever that means). This new drawing is of a brightly dressed dapper character.

Using scavenged wood found in Holland and Germany, this new piece by Other is powerfully animated both in color and energy.  The legs for this character were also found, contrasting well with the upper body.
