That is not a typo. The Booklyn Art Gallery in Brooklyn is pleased to present INPUT OUTPUT, featuring artwork and personal collections of Alexander Heir, Jess Poplawski, Keith Pavia, Katie Plassche and Victor Giannini. IO features artwork exhibited alongside a wide range of totems and amassed ephemera including but not limited to: photographs, bones, leaflets, masks, studded jackets, flags, action figures, instructional manuals, plants, and curio cabinets.

Last weekend, we attended the opening of the legendary FUTURA 2000 at Galerie Jerome de Noirmont in Paris. Futura 2012—Expansions features 15 new paintings created in 2011, with Futura himself notes, "explore the realm of the ABSTRACT and spontaneous."

This past Saturday night, we stopped by Guerrero Gallery's newest group show, An American Language, featuring the works of 12 traditional American sign painters. The show featured the works of Jeff Canham, Mike Meyer, Derek McDonald, Dusty Madsen, Gary Martin, Josh Luke, Gary Green, Greg Jones, and others.

Regardless of the fact that it is a slow news week, and that we know that there is a joke being played on us all somewhere, Mr Brainwash opened his mega exhibition/installation/extravaganza on December 25. It was aptly called Art Show 2011. We sent Trina Calderon and photographer Carlos Gonzalez deep in the depths of North La Brea in Los Angeles to check out what brought people out on Christmas.

We announced on the site the other day that Valencia, Spain-based artist, Hyuro (who we spent time with in Norway this Fall) just opened a new solo exhibition, Casual Anomalies, at Starkart in Zurich, Switzerland. She just passed photos along to us today of the exhibition, which works heavily on the theme of isolation and xistentialist insecurities.
