While in Italy for his solo exhibition “Pellis Os Omentum” at Galo Art Gallery, Nychos squeezed in some extra time to paint this huge, very menacing-looking, semi-dissected snake. There is impressive detail painted using a spray can on this serpent, with fierce fangs ready to bite down and taste blood from its prey. And of course, a human skeleton is inside the stomach, which is common with many of the animals the artist creates.

We landed in Honolulu yesterday and hit the ground running, checking out countless murals in progress for POW WOW, an annual gathering of contemporary artists. Some of our favorite artists from the international community as well as fresh, local talent from Hawaii are currently coating walls in the Kaka’Ako neighborhood, and there are good vibes around every corner. Nothing beats painting in paradise.
