Our Halloween printed issue of Juxtapoz curated by Alex Pardee features the Vienna-based illustrator and muralist, Nychos. Over the last few years Nychos has created a unique esthetic unlike most of the work created by a spray can.  Severed and separated anatomical figures are his niche. Watch this new video as the artist paints a sectioned head on the side of a freeway pillar.

Vienna’s anatomical dissection specialist, Nychos, sent over photos of his most recent mural painted on a monastery in St. Ottilien, Germany. This new piece shows money floating upwards from a corpse with lederhosen’s resting in a coffin. Nychos was in the Bavarian region for the Heaven Meets Earth Festival.

Various members of the collective, The Weird, including Zipper, Spray, Look, HrvB, Nychos and Cone, portrayed what a “street art tour” could possibly look at.  We have never been on one, but apparently they do go down and people are shelling out bucks for guidance to the “hot spots.”

Their newest effort is a play on Walt Disney, featuring numerous renditions of popular icons such as Daffy Duck, Whiney The Pooh, Goofy, Bambi, and more.

The creative collective comprising of a number of character-based artists known as The Weird, recently combined efforts in painting their own rendition of Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper.” The mural shows a variety of animated characters painted by the talents of Rookie, Dxtr, Nychos, Low Bros, Frau Isa, Look, Cone, Vidam, and Herr von Bias.

Last month, while Nychos was busy painting multiple murals in London, Very Nearly Almost Magazine documented the artist’s visit.  To no surprise, Iron Maiden's wailing guitars set the mood. Expect to see something special with Nychos in an upcoming printed issue of Juxtapoz.

Nychos x Flying Fortress in Bristol and more

The See No Evil Festival in Bristol, UK has been seeing wonderful work from around the globe including this newest addition from Nychos and Flying Fortress.  The two collaborated on a huge mural showing a Jukebox character riding a winged skeleton monster. Love the usage of eyeballs as reins!  And a “brainy” Nychos letter piece was painted during this visit as well.
