Resident art weirdo has made his way from San Francisco to New York and now Miami. In a new video, Neckface talks about his last solo show, Devil's Disciple. “Even today when I’m doing work, I’m laughing as I do it,” he states. “I can’t believe I’m drawing this shit!”

Neck Face plans to turn Miami inside out in his premiere solo exhibition tonight. The artist will deconstruct all 10,000 square feet of O.H.W.O.W. and build a world complete his own, including a haunted house installation, designed to frighten viewers as they enter the space. Just perfect for Halloween night.

Photographer Ari Marcopoulos, artist Barry McGee, Keith Hufnagel of HUF SF, and hip-hop pioneer/historian/former graffiti artist Fred Brathwaite aka Fab 5 Freddy will be subjects of a program at the Berkeley Art Museum on November 8th, 2009. Looks like our purveyors of culture are getting intellectual with a stimulating conversation.

Bad boy artist Neckface is up to creepy tricks again. A dead dummy surrounded by beer cans and Cheetos bags graces a Miami window and has been scaring off passersby since Neckface installed it in anticipation of his show, Devil’s Disciple. See local news coverage of the scene now.

Graffiti turned studio artist Neckface is somewhat of an idiot savant, but they always say there’s a fine line between insanity and genius. Watch an entertaining video of the young artist here to get you warmed up for Neckface’s solo, Devil’s Disciple, opening (when else?) this Halloween.

It's true, Neckface really does creep while you sleep. Hell, if you know anything about this illusive street and gallery artist, you know he actually does a lot more than creep. Neckface, known for his scratchy monster-infused illustrations, just completed this new mural. Commissioned by Altamount for a whopping $146.78 in paint, the new addition graces the street-facing wall of Barracuda’s new store location on Melrose Avenue off Fairfax in (where else?) Los Angeles. Creep over and get a peek at it yourself.

Galleria Patricia Armocida is proud to announce the opening of Always and Never, the first solo exhibition in Italy by Ari Marcopoulos, on March 4th. For this occasion, Ari Marcopoulos, who is considered one of the most important and respected American photographers of recent generations, will present medium and large format works, including seven never-before-seen photographs and the video Dressage, which was recently shown at MC Kunst in Los Angeles. Marcopoulos' work is often talked about in the context of his engagement with subcultures (skateboarding, art, music.) Now, nondescript skies and unpopulated landscapes counter the action of extreme sports, the stage, or the street, for which he is most known. Take a look at more of Ari Marcopoulos’ work at his website.
