Another year, and another great leap forward for one of street arts now venerable festivals, Nuart. Held each year on the streets of Stavanger, Norway, with a roster of international artists creating public art in an idyllic west Norwegian town, this year also expanded the festival to not only include indoor installations, but a full academic focus on street art as a prevailing means of public art.

Outdoor works getting completed, indoor halls gettin the final touches, and Nuart is almost ready for a full show opening. The street pieces were coming out nice this year, with a few large murals and some great intervention projects going up around Stavanger, Norway.

It is getting busy. Day two was an active one here in Stavanger, where Juxtapoz could walk around the town to catch numerous murals and street pieces taking shape and form. Ron English, How Nosm, Niels Shoe Muelman, and Eine had outdoor murals in progress, while Sickboy, Saber, Aakash Nihalani, Jordan Seiler and others worked out their indoor beer hall installations.

The work has begun in Stavanger, Norway for Nuart 2012, with the likes of How Nosm, Ron English, Aakash Nihalani, Jordan Seiler, Eine, and Sickboy getting to work on both their outdoor projects and indoor installations. Juxtapoz is back in the lovely Norwegian coastal city of Stavanger for the 2012 edition of Nuart. This year, yours truly (aka Editor Evan Pricco) will be doing a little talking about street art and internet with fellow art editors Tristan Manco and RJ Rushmore of Vandalog, and we get to introduce Ron English at the screening of his Popaganda film. We love looking forward to a good bit of travel. Nuart 2012 is all set, and we are heading back out to Stavanger, Norway this year to take part in one of the world's premiere public art festivals. This year's lineup, including a little conference featuring Juxtapoz, will include Ron English, Saber, Hownosm, Eine, and others.

Our good friends at Nuart, whom we featured in our May 2012 Public Art issue, and who hold down a few great public art and music festivals in Stavanger, Norway each year, just opend a permanent gallery space,  Reed Projects, and their inaugural show, The Rejects, in Stavanger this past weekend. They kicked off the new space with a group show that encapsulates a bunch of the artists who have created murals in and around Stavanger each year.

One of our favorite people we got to hang out with in Norway this past Fall was NYC-based Dan Witz, a street and fine artist who has been creating this great interventions for decades, little suprises for those who pay attention to the minute details of the urban experience. Tellas for Nuart 2011 Video

One of our favorite newcomers we met at Nuart this past Fall was Italian artist Tellas, who put together a beautiful multi-storied mural and intricate installation piece in Stavanger. All we can say about Tellas is watch out for him, because there is already a clear vision and style coming from this young artist.
