Jeremy Lipking's Naturalist Nudes

Erotica // Friday, February 28, 2014
Jeremy Lipking's oil paintings take a cue from the great realist tradition of the late nineteenth century, intimate portraits of reclining nudes and women in nature depicted through a mixture of open gestural touchs and sharp lifelike renderings. The human figure dominates his compositions, with Lipking's subjects often turning their faces away so that the body itself takes center stage. The son of a professional illustrator, Lipking attended the California Art Institute. He is based in Los Angeles.

Auckland based John Crawford's portfolio of commissioned and uncommissioned works is diverse in subject matter and mood, yet unmistakeable in its use of light and its natural, simple style. John says his aim is to capture images that have a high degree of interest and contrast, don’t look too technical, and are easy to look at and enjoy- like his series of Aerial Nudes!

The Work of Chelsey Tyler Wood

Juxtapoz // Monday, January 06, 2014
Chelsey Tyler Wood’s new series of paintings and drawings place female bodies into cramped wooden crates. Her photorealistic execution not only demonstrates her commitment to craftsmanship and detail, her renderings call into question the assumed ‘realness’ of female portrait photography in the age of Photoshop.
