Croatia-born, Norway-based tattoo, digital, and fine artist Dino Tomic has been studying the human eyes with a series of hyperrealistic drawings using colored pencils. According to Dino there are no secrets, "just layers and layers of color tricking your brain in[to] thinking this is real."

  We love this proposal for a new cultural center in Norway by the portuguese engineering and design firm Cerejeira Fontes Architects. Interpreting a lineal series of spaces, the overlapping, winding concrete form also has a cantilevering tail and forms an outdoor gathering space in its center. The roof emerges from a rock formation and doubles as seating for events and an extruded form frames views of the ocean.  

From ROM for Art + Architecture in Oslo, Norway, on their new, incredible light installation: Submergence is a highly immersive, Mixed Reality experience that challenges perceptions of space and presence. Imagine walking through a virtual world, where pixels on a screen are replaced by thousands of points of light floating in space. Imagine that these points of light create environments, atmospheres and physical spaces that you can enter, affect, immerse yourself in.

Born in 1980 in Oslo, Norway, the artist and illustrator Sail currently  lives and works on the top of a hill near the sea and tends to keep to himself. His dramatic, gestural illustrations are full of heavy contrasted emotion and some of his clients include Sprint, Random House and Soft Skull Press. Beautiful work.

Juxtapoz was lucky enough to once again attend the annual Nuart Festival in Stavanger, Norway this past September and October, and the installations have now finally closed. But, the organizers have just released the documentary around the making of Nuart 2012, capturing the behind-the-scenes moments of preparation, process, and personality that went into this year's festuval. Our December 2012 cover artist, Conor Harrington, was in Vardo, Norway earlier this year, painting incredibly impressive murals around town for Komafest. Luckily for we readers and fans who were not able to make it up near the North Pole, Andrew Telling filmed a beautiful piece documenting Harrington's trip and the surrounding area. Beautifully rendered illustrated 'Higher Ground' text from Sverre Malling. Drawn completely in graphite pencil, the illustrated letters of Malling are composed of decay, garbage, insects, paraphernalia and all things heavy metal. Sverre was born in 1977 in Oslo, Norway.

It is getting busy. Day two was an active one here in Stavanger, where Juxtapoz could walk around the town to catch numerous murals and street pieces taking shape and form. Ron English, How Nosm, Niels Shoe Muelman, and Eine had outdoor murals in progress, while Sickboy, Saber, Aakash Nihalani, Jordan Seiler and others worked out their indoor beer hall installations.

Oslo, Norway-based Henrick Uldalen is a young up-and-coming self-taught painter. His atmosphere and subject matter is often depicted as being in a limbo or dream-like state. Despite his realistic approach, photographic accuracy is not what he seeks to achieve.

Norwegians just do it better? The Troll Wall is the tallest vertical rock face in Europe, about 3,600 ft from its base to the summit of its highest point. And now, thanks to the wonderful work of Reiulf Ramstad Architects, there is a fantastic visitor's center for which to visit before you base jump, or whatever you do at steep cliffs.
