New York City is going to be busy this weekend with a bunch of great openings and fairs through Sunday, March 9. Juxtapoz has already visited Scope, Volta, and the grand ol' Armory Show, but there are great openings and shows all around, so go out and play.

When it comes to exhibiting fine art editions, NYC's Pace Prints has been the pantheon for some of the most important artists of the day, ushering the careers of a wave of up-and-coming museum staples, such as George Condo, Julian Schnabel, Shepard Fairey, Chuck Close, Ryan McGinness, Ghada Amer, Erik Parker, and Ed Ruscha. The list of artists who have made prints with Pace Editions and shown in the Pace Prints gallery is enviable.

Our December 2013 cover artist and all around great artist Todd "REAS" James is set to open "Supernatural" at Sandra Gering Inc in NYC on Feburary 27, 2014. As we can see with a few of the previews that are out on the web, James has been advancing and working on the narratives of his female characters... we like the direction.

Juxtapoz was very fortunate to get to spend time with Sarah Cain and run a print feature of her work in the December 2011 issue, and we have been following her ascent into the fine art word for years. Having showed at institutions like SFMOMA and the Orange County Museum of Art, Cain's new work at Galerie Lelong is some of our favorite to date. Abstraction fixed into structured installation preparation... a really stunning show we can't wait to see in person.

New York-based artist Yigal Ozeri has continued to take hyper-realism to the next level. It's hard to believe that his work isn’t an actual photograph. Capturing solar flares, dreamy light, and contrasting color tones, he’s shown just how far he’s willing to go to capture a moment.

We knew Los Angeles-based artist Devin Troy Strother was off to big things when we first started to see his artwork on our radar about 6 years ago, and now the artist has a string of great shows that have now led to a new body of work, "I Just Landed in Rome," open at Marlborough Broome Street in NYC. The show features a new series of large-scale sculptures of the black female body, all taking poses take a cue from art history — "mimicking Renaissance paintings and classical Roman statues."

A quite nice example of an artist who has worked in abstraction for a few years now with minimal figurative elements going fully into abstract expressionist work with great results. Currently showing at Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld in NYC is this untitled solo exhibition of 24 new paintings by Clare Rojas. As the gallery notes, "It is Rojas’s first showing in New York since her hiatus from painting and this reintroduction reveals her evolution into the visual language of abstract expression."

Creating a phenomenon may seem impossible these days, but for Brandon Stanton it just happened, like a beautiful necessary accident. After growing and nurturing a large and devoted fan base as a Facebook page, Stanton expanded to Tumblr, provoking David Karp, the founder of Tumblr, to call HONY his favorite Tumblr blog.
