Olek and the Bull on Wall Street—Video

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, January 04, 2011
The Wall Street bull got a bit covered by NYC artist Olek, who is a crochet titan. She could crochet your house if she wanted to. Her newest crochet victim or lucky guest also had some video shot with it, because we think most of you would like to see how one crochets on Wall Street. Has to be a first, a least since the days of Washington. Video after the jump . . .

Kenji Nakayama for Woodward Gallery Project Space

Juxtapoz // Monday, January 03, 2011
Kenji Nakayama is profiled in our January 2011 issue, and the piece we featured in the magazine sits outside the Woodward Gallery Project Space in NYC. The piece was up from October through December, but our guess is that you may still be able to see across from Woodward Gallery right now. See what our contributing editor, Caleb Neelon, had to say about Kenji after the jump . . .

El Mac—Chelsea Jewel Video

Juxtapoz // Monday, January 03, 2011
We had meant to post this El Mac video a few weeks ago, but now we have the time to get this "Chelsea Jewel " piece up. This video captures the mural that Mac painted in NYC to coincide with his solo show that he had at Joshua Liner Gallery this past Fall. Watch the video after the jump . . .

iO Tillett Wright—90 Images of 2010

Juxtapoz // Sunday, January 02, 2011
New York City-based photographer iO Tillett Wright posted her 90 Photos of 2010 as the year ended, and because we have always loved her black and white shots at night, we found some of our favorites to post her. Of course, iO posted them "In actual chronological order I give you, my 2010 in photographs," and we just posted them in a random order, because we are random. Photos after the jump . . .

Feature: Interview with Alec Monopoly

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, November 16, 2010
Our NYC correspondent, Brock Fetch, sat down with artist Alec Monopoly last Thursday as Alec's first NYC gallery show was taking place without him. Alec has spent the last month in New York creating pieces for the show and avoiding NY Vandal-Squad. Full interview after the jump.

To do tonight: Tiffany Bozic in NYC, Ericailcane in SF

Juxtapoz // Thursday, November 11, 2010
Just your friendly neighborhood reminder that two great shows are going on tonight on opposite ends of the coast: Tiffany Bozic's Confiding To Strangers at NYC's Joshua Liner Gallery (which has probably started by now, so get moving), and Ericailcane's We Were Living In the Woods at San Francsico's FIFTY24SF Gallery. Both will feature a lot of animals done with tremendous skill, but done so very differently. Details after the jump . . .

Spend Halloween w/ Neck Face: "Into Darkness" at OHWOW LA

Juxtapoz // Sunday, October 31, 2010
Longtime friend of our sister publication, Thrasher, Neck Face is making it a tradition to put on a Halloween show/party with OHWOW Gallery. Following Neck's 2009's now famous performance exhibition, Devil's Disciple at OHWOW Miami, he backs it up with his new 2010 Halloween show, Into Darkness, at OHWOW's space in Los Angeles.

Ryan McGinley "Life Adjustment Center" at Ratio 3 in SF tonight

Juxtapoz // Friday, October 29, 2010
We remember back in 2007, when we sent our NYC correspondent, street photography legend Ricky Powell, over to young photography phenom Ryan McGinley's studio. The first picture we saw from their meeting was Ryan in an ANYthing beanie in front of a Morrissey framed poster. Needless to say, we were into it...

Enter 'Into Darkness' this Halloween with Neck Face

Neck Face’s new solo, Into Darkness, is a homecoming presentation (of sorts) for the California native, as he unveils his latest series of drawings, paintings, and sculptures. The exhibition opens on Halloween night with an encore production of the highly publicized performance and installation mounted in Miami, 2009, replete with a full-scale haunted house and skate demo.
