NYC subway graffiti legend, Ghost, will be showing a new series of paintings, Then and Now, at TT Underground in NYC opening September 8. His style is instantly recognizable, and he was one of our premier features in our NYC Graffiti issue in September 2008.

Occupying a city block and 5 stories high, 5Pointz is destination for street artists around the world visiting New York City. The building’s owner, Jerry Wolkoff says the time has come to redevelop the site and build high-rise residential towers with up to 1,300 rental units.

We had read about Duke Riley providing artwork for the MTA this past Spring and Summer, but we were just reminded of the work that Riley ended up creating. Be Good Or Be Gone is a commissioned project that Riley did for the MTA featuring a proposed installation at the Beach 98th Street A/S train subway station and art in subway cars.

These two pieces by Slinkachu are a few months old now, but this piece, titled "Sugar High," done on the streets of London near Kings Cross, is pretty darn clever. As you may know, Slinkachu is noted for their street photography and mini-installations in various outdoor environments around the world.

We have this show marked on our calendars: Bold Hype Gallery in NYC has rounded up a great trio of photographers, Peter Beste, Corey Arnold, and Céline Clanet for an exhibition, Frontiers. The show opens on September 8, and there will be a lot of Scandinavian atmosphere.

The Ace Hotel NYC approached THIS Los Angeles wanting to collaborate on some idea, one being to bring THIS' annual big ass group show east. So that is what they did, and tonight, August 12, at Ace Hotel NYC, THIS LA is presenting These Friends At the Ace with such artists as Geoff McFetridge, Mel Kadel, Chris Duncan, Curtis Kulig and others.

Chicago based street artist TipToe showed up on the New York scene a year or so ago as a kid in a ferocious werewolf headpiece. Inspired by ideas of Greek serial killers in wolf's hides as well as Allen Ginsburg's lunatic friends howling at the moon, the woodcut prints appeared like rugged anti-heroic talismans from another epic era.
