Asger Carlsen at Primary Photographic Gallery NYC

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, June 29, 2011
Asger Carlsen remains one of the most fascinating of contemporary photographers, creating a parallel, yet oddly familiar, universe where the world is slightly off. Currently, Asger is showing at Primary Photographic Gallery in NYC, in an exhibition curated by Tim Barber.

JR Brings Inside Out to New York City

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, June 29, 2011
We saw a few JR pieces pop up in NYC last week, and were waiting to confirm the project. Turns out the French artist has brought his Inside Out / Native American Project to NYC, the project where digitally uploaded images will be made into posters and sent back to the project’s co-creators for them to exhibit in their own community.

Art In the Streets Not Heading to Brooklyn Museum?

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, June 22, 2011
We added the question mark because we feel nothing is final, but it looks like the major graffiti and street art examination, Art In the Streets, currently at Los Angeles' MOCA, will not be heading to the Brooklyn Museum next, as previously planned.

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, June 22, 2011
Kenny Scharf is an icon of both street and fine art in NYC, and Lui Bolin is the fascinating artist who paints himself into disguise, blending into the backgrounds in which he places himself in front of. The two artists just teamed up in NYC for a collaborative piece.

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, June 14, 2011
Queens, New York's Nick Georgiou creates these elaborate, detailed art installations and sculptures out of newspapers. He does them as public street art pieces, leaving them around NYC, or he does some quite insane gallery work in the form portraits. Out of newspapers mind you.

Juxtapoz // Saturday, June 04, 2011
One of the best touches of MOCA's "Art In the Streets" was the inclusion of NYC's COST & REVS, vital parts of the entire graffiti and street story. Right now through Paper Monster, COST has a new print, "COST WAS HERE," available in 3 different colorways.
