One of the most fascinating artists to come out of the hip-hop and graffiti movements in the 1980s, as well as the highlight of MOCA's 2011 Art In the Streets and our issue done in conjunction was the late Rammellzee, a true visual and musical pioneer. Starting March 9, the artist's The Letter Racers sculptures will be on view in NYC for the first time.

Massimo Vitali's large scale photographs always grab our attention with their beautiful array of bright, sun-bleached hues. His beach scenes shot in Turkey, Greece and Italy present beautifully color coordinated bathers with their sun tanned flesh, umbrellas, towels, and bathing suits dotting the intersection between rock, sand, and sea.

The whole Hanksy as an impersonator to Banksy thing is all a bit odd, and when you go to NYC, you do see a lot of Hanksy pieces around the lower portion of Manhattan. Tom Hanks as a street art vehicle seems friendly enough, and the artists or team known as Hanksy will be showing at Krause Gallery in NYC this January 13, 2012.

In 2010, in the Grand Turbine Hall of the Tate Modern in London, Chinese artist became even more famous with his incredible Sunflower Seeds installation. Tonight, January 7, Weiwei will open the installation again, this time at Mary Boone Gallery in New York City.

Juxtapoz photographer Brock Fetch, on his way home from Basel, stopped in NYC for the night to take pictures of some of his friends. Turns out, a lot of NYC-based musicians, hip-hop artists, and personalities stopped by the studio, including Action Bronson, Asher Roth, Jasmine Solano, members of Ninjasonic, Alex XXXchange, and DJ/producer Roofeeo, to name a few.

Nan Goldin is a largely successful artist to say the least. Her photographs have been the subject of two major museum retrospectives. She received the Hasselblad Foundation International Award in 2007, and the list goes on. Scopophilia, her current show in New York, will be on view at Matthew Marks Gallery through December 23rd.
