Andrew Martin Scott of Needles & Pens in San Francisco (a great zine and art gallery that we have showcased a bunch over the years) has brought a well needed touch to the Los Angeles area by opening a second location in the heart of the arts district in Culver City.  “& Pens Press” opened this past August and we stopped by this past weekend for the opening reception and book release for legendary artist David King.

Needles and Pens is currently having their 10-year anniversary show at the Luggage Store in San Francisco. We stopped by on Friday night for the opening reception of the massive group show, featuring over 70 participating artists, a book release, and live bands! Party! The show will be on display through June 8th so if you are lucky enough to be in the bay area, we recommend you check it out!

Paths and Ways opens this Saturday February 11, 2012 at Needles and Pens in San Francisco. The show features new work and a book release from local artist Kelly Ording. The artist who graduated from SFAI works predominately in natural tones, infusing natural and constructed objects, often incorporating coffee into her pieces.  Show runs until March 4, 2012.

In August 2011, Monica Canilao and Kyle Ranson built an installation/exhibition at Krets Gallery in Malmö, Sweden called The More We Wander. Now, the Bay Area-based artists are bringing the collaboration to SF at Needles and Pens, opening on December 10.
