Longtime friend of our sister publication, Thrasher, Neck Face is making it a tradition to put on a Halloween show/party with OHWOW Gallery. Following Neck's 2009's now famous performance exhibition, Devil's Disciple at OHWOW Miami, he backs it up with his new 2010 Halloween show, Into Darkness, at OHWOW's space in Los Angeles.

Neck Face’s new solo, Into Darkness, is a homecoming presentation (of sorts) for the California native, as he unveils his latest series of drawings, paintings, and sculptures. The exhibition opens on Halloween night with an encore production of the highly publicized performance and installation mounted in Miami, 2009, replete with a full-scale haunted house and skate demo.

“Usually, skateboarding imagery means to communicate an I-Don’t-Care attitude yet, ironically, there is much hard labor, by designers and screenprinters, behind the creation and production of these images.” This quote is from an old program catalog we dug up in our offices of Grind: The Graphics and Culture of Skateboarding, exhibited way back in 1995 at the Huntington Beach Art Center.

Resident art weirdo has made his way from San Francisco to New York and now Miami. In a new video, Neckface talks about his last solo show, Devil's Disciple. “Even today when I’m doing work, I’m laughing as I do it,” he states. “I can’t believe I’m drawing this shit!”

Neck Face plans to turn Miami inside out in his premiere solo exhibition tonight. The artist will deconstruct all 10,000 square feet of O.H.W.O.W. and build a world complete his own, including a haunted house installation, designed to frighten viewers as they enter the space. Just perfect for Halloween night.

Bad boy artist Neckface is up to creepy tricks again. A dead dummy surrounded by beer cans and Cheetos bags graces a Miami window and has been scaring off passersby since Neckface installed it in anticipation of his show, Devil’s Disciple. See local news coverage of the scene now.

Graffiti turned studio artist Neckface is somewhat of an idiot savant, but they always say there’s a fine line between insanity and genius. Watch an entertaining video of the young artist here to get you warmed up for Neckface’s solo, Devil’s Disciple, opening (when else?) this Halloween.

It's true, Neckface really does creep while you sleep. Hell, if you know anything about this illusive street and gallery artist, you know he actually does a lot more than creep. Neckface, known for his scratchy monster-infused illustrations, just completed this new mural. Commissioned by Altamount for a whopping $146.78 in paint, the new addition graces the street-facing wall of Barracuda’s new store location on Melrose Avenue off Fairfax in (where else?) Los Angeles. Creep over and get a peek at it yourself.

Neckface's solo show, "The Night After Halloween", opened on September 16th at New Image Art in Los Angeles and runs through October 21st. We got tons of photos of the art and the opening. Don't be afraid. Photos by ert o'hara
