Our Beastie Boys issue is now out in the world, and today we look at the contributions of Todd James, known sometimes as REAS, to the BBoys canon. James created a few animations and graphic works for the Beasties, including the Dusted Elephant. He also created the animated sequence for the 1992 B-side, "The Skills to Pay the Bills."

Trapped in Suburbia has produced a new interactive print, Sounds Poster 1.0, that you can play like an instrument. The poster is the "first design in a series of 'analogue meets digital' experiments." The user places one finger on a tab at the bottom of the poster and then can move the other hand over the different shapes in the poster to create different, very abstract sounds. Well, if you want to know about a certain artist, personality, or politician, you let Charlie Rose break them down for you. Known for his interviews with an assortment of celebrities and policy makers, Rose scored an interview with the Beastie Boys in 2007 while in support of their tour for the all instrumental albume, The Mix Up. Because the Beasties rarely gave interviews, this remains one of their best, most playful, and insightful.

"You Lust" is a track from the Lips' new LP, The Terror, is a long, winding, 13-minute epic, but thank you to Oklahoma's finest, this is along 4 minutes long. We continue our month of Beastie Boys with a fantastic behind the scenes story. Yes, you the reader will get to know the mystery of World B Omes in the coming days and the tale of Licensed To Ill's now iconic album cover. Antiques Roadshow, being one of the best programs of TV, did this fantastic little bit on someone getting their Licensed To Ill artwork appraised. In conclusion, PBS is going to show up a lot when it comes to the Beastie Boys this month.

We are now officially in Beastie Boys month in conjunction with our very special June 2013 issue, and we kick off the festivities with this fantastic animated treatment of a classic BB's interview from 1985. PBS' Digital Studios took the interview and put it through their "Blank on Blank" series, and the result is the Beastie Boys animated by Patrick Smith, saying things like "There's a way we talk and it includes profanity. We never figured we'd be arrested for it." Enjoy!

We spent the weekend enjoying the visuals that have been projected behind the performances of Thom Yorke and Nigel Godrich as they "DJ/perform" in support of the new LP, AMOK, by their group Atoms For Peace. As was the video for "Judge, Jury, Executioner," visual artist Tarik Barri has been on stage with Atoms For Peace providing live visuals... and they fit the experience perfectly. Watch...

Phish probably pulled off the six-hour show, and perhaps for some, it all sounded like the same song. Well, Brooklyn's The National is going to take this concept up a notch. In collaboration with Icelandic artist Ragnar Kjartansson, the band will play their track "Sorrow" from the 2010 LP High Violet, for six straight, continuous hours. That's right, 360 minutes, and because the song is around 3:25, that is just a lot of "Sorrow" in a row. The artist's idea? "By stretching a single pop song into a day-long tour de force the artist continues his explorations into the potential of repetitive performance to produce sculptural presence within sound."
