We are almost, so close, to the dawning of Spring, and we think its good timing for a new album from San Diego band Wavves. The album title, Afraid of Heights, also has a track by the same name, and a video of lo-fi, Super 8, drag queen night out... and what we call Wednesday.

Even if you aren't a huge fan of the music of Vampire Weekend, there is something to admire about their artistic practice when it comes to their image. Consistent, unwavering, and clean are words that come to mind, and the look for their upcoming LP, Modern Vampires of The City, keeps with the solid block logo of the band a timeless, if not iconic even-though-you-haven't-seen-it-yet photo for the album cover. The video for the new single, "Step", uses beautiful, subdued footage of NYC with type that would make Wes Anderson happy.

Two things are working quite nicely here. One, this track from UK-band Foals, "My Number," from their LP Holy Fire, is really solid, and the directors of the video, US (the directing duo consisting of Christopher Barrett and Luke Taylor) have done a brilliant job with motion capturing the band in a unique and slightly "draw-by-numbers" video. Well, it's better than than. Just watch...

Musically and aesthetically, British Sea Power have always treaded a fine line between pop and experimentation, whether playing a full concert in a cave or writing a catchy tune about a melting iceberg. What we are trying to say is that they are really good. On April 1, BSP will release Machineries of Joy via Rough Trade, and their first video for the record features bikes, the countryside, and a girl who may be lost.

Straight from LA'a Angelus mountains, Haim have released their latest song "Falling" along with a video directed by Tabitha Denholm. Creating a story of innocent-looking sisters transforming into playful, 70's style girls. This vintage style video involves high-waisted skirts, button-up blouses and long, flowing hair. Capturing the essence of Haim's live shows...

We are always looking for great music videos, either in their simplistic mastery of their full-blown artistic expression. Oh, and it helps if the song is good. Sin Fang's "Look At the Light" video, directed by Máni M. Sigfússon who is actually the person behind Sin Fang, is a stunning piece of video art, taking some of the concepts we have loved recently in the double-exposure works of Pat Perry or Oriol Angrill Jordà, but adding some experimental digital elements.

Last time we engaged with Thom Yorke and music videos, it happened to be him dancing to an abstract choreographed routine prepared by Wayne McGregor for the Radiohead video "Lotus Flower." Mr Yorke is now working on his new project, Atoms For Peace and the newly released LP Amok, and again is working in movement with McGregor and director Garth Jennings. This time, we have khaki suits and dancer Fukiko Takase and the mellow, sublime track "Ingenue."
