They are questions that I don’t like to answer, or even think about, ones I mulled over and over when I visited Cindy Sherman’s retrospective at MoMA this past Spring and again when the exhibition was moved to SFMOMA this Summer (opening on Saturday, July 14). Who is Cindy Sherman? Who is the real Cindy Sherman? I don’t like that it even comes up in my head. What she is, on the surface, is a photographer, model, stylist, filmmaker, and wardrobe artist....

Next Monday, January 9 at 7pm, NYC's Museum of Modern Art will be hosting An Evening with Ron English, that includes a screening of Pedro Carvajal’s 2005 documentary feature Popaganda: The Art and Crimes of Ron English, and a sampling of English’s recent moving image works, including the “Detroit project” from his ongoing video-posting series.

This has been a long-awaited show at the Museum of Modern Art, Talk to Me: Design and the Communication Between People and Objects. Talk to Me explores the communication between people and things, focusing on objects that involve a direct interaction, such as interfaces, information systems, visualization design, and communication devices, and on projects that establish an emotional, sensual, or intellectual connection with their users.

This is a two-way street of good decisions: the Museum of Modern Art and Kanye West have teamed up for pop-superstar Mr. West to play perform at their annual Party in the Garden benefit taking place on May 10, 2011 in the MoMA's Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden.

Last night, Juxtapoz and the Musuem of Modern Art closed the All the Wrong Art: Juxtapoz Magazine on Film series. Ending the week-long event was a screening of "Dirty Hands: The Art and Crimes of David Choe." In a nice compliment, Ron English was in discussion with Choe and director, Harry Kim, after the show. Harrod Blank's Automorphosis was the latest to be featured in the Juxtapoz x MoMA "All the Wrong Art" film series on Sunday night. The movie truly captured the soul and the origins of the energy that was the basis of the original Juxtapoz reader: counter-culturists and creative frontiersmen and women that take the everyday mundane and turn it into art in motion.
