"Manifesto" mural by Escif

Escif is constantly creating new and provocative street work in his hometown of Valencia, Spain. We often wonder what local residents of Valencia think of Escif’s murals, as it must be inescapable to not notice at this point. His newest piece entitled “Manifesto” shows a pantless bearded speaker at a podium from two angles.

OS GEMEOS AND ARYZ MURAL PROGRESS IN POLAND

Mishka will soon have a flagship store in Los Angeles and invited Sacramento-based artist, Skinner, and New York-based artist, L' Amour Supreme (featured in our October 2012 issue), to collaborate on a mural. The fictional movie stars E.T. and King Kong made a special guest appearance in their work.

"Libertad De Prensa" mural by Escif

Escif’s newest mural in his hometown of Valencia, Spain depicts a human being crushed by a large vice. Entitled “Libertad De Prensa” which translates in English to “Freedom of the Press”, is a comment on a local radio broadcast that was removed from Spanish radio.

The Works of Bill Dunlap

We have profiled Bill Dunlap's work in the magazine before, but we have just come across his black painting and faces series and wanted to share with our readers. Dunlap has shown in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, and Boston this summer in various group shows, but is also known to paint a very well-constructed barn mural. He also "Can't read, can't write." And was "Raised by wolves and skunks."

I was riding bikes in New York with a friend and he pointed over to this mural of racecars and said, “That is my favorite muralist in the city.”  To be honest, I had seen the murals in passing before but never really gave them much attention. I started noticing them more and more, really taking a liking to them. They have a naïve, childish, and playful feel.

Another Mural from ZED1 in Norway

For the past month, Italian muralist, ZED1, has painted several energetic large murals around the streets of Oslo, Norway. This newest piece entitled “Norway vs. Thor” has great movement, showing the artist’s contorted characters and two goats. This is our favorite from Norway yet.
