Inspired by Michelangelo's fresco in the Sistine Chapel, Prague-based artist, Pasta Oner, created his own rendition of the “divine touch.”  This piece was created in conjunction with the Stuck in the City project that included artists from various backgrounds from around the globe.

Gentrification has been an ever-present topic for people living in major U.S. cities, often attributed with a negative connotation. Escif painted his interpretation of the “population migration” in his hometown of Valencia, Spain. Brilliant!

New Jade Mural

Peruvian muralist, Jade, is back again with another new mural in Lima, Peru. The artist painted a character popping out of some green liquid with colorful pennants flags above. Apparently, this location will be the home of a friends new business.

The four-story Schunck Museum in Heerlen, Holland now adorns a vibrant mural from Canadian artist, Other. An eclectic group of stacked faces and bodies, including a skull were painted from top to bottom. Simple brightly colored designs accompany the characters making for a beautiful piece.

Conor Harrington in Mexico City

A little sneak attack from our December 2012 cover artist, Conor Harrington, as he painted a new mural in Mexico City without the fanfare of festival or exhibition. While on vacation, the London-based artist took a day to leave something in the DF. As our colleagues at Juxtapoz Latin America said, "We hope to see you soon back in Latin lands, Mr. Harrington."

"Bird Globe" Illustrations by Phlegm

Based on a wall that was previously painted in Turin, Italy, Sheffield-based artist, Phlegm, illustrated these two “bird globes.” Intricately detailed, with beautiful shading, these pieces show the artists signature characters sleeping inside pod-like bird and owl faces. Phlegm has been working on a number of illustrations for an upcoming book project that should be released in early 2013.

"It's Whats Outside that Counts" by Skewville

Over the summer, the New York-based duo, Skewville, created a large bold lettered piece with the words “It’s What’s Outside That Counts” on the exterior of The Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art.
