Aryz paints massive mural in San Francisco

Street Art // Wednesday, May 08, 2013
The grimey streets of San Francisco’s Tenderloin District are always bustling with colorful action and have received a major visual upgrade by our January 2013 cover artist, Aryz. The Spanish artist spent 10 days on a lift painting this 7-story piece with rollers and it’s certainly turning heads. If you are in San Francisco and want to see it in person, head down to Eddy and Polk streets.

4 murals by David de la Mano and Pablo S. Herrero

Street Art // Wednesday, May 08, 2013
Frequent collaborators David de la Mano and Pablo S. Herrero both create silhouetted imagery that compliments each other’s work naturally, making it hard to differentiate the two (Mano paints the figures while Herrero contributes the natural elements). The pair worked on four murals in Winter Haven, Florida, all with a distinctly different composition and concept. We are especially fond of the wall where the tree limbs are creating the face!

"Vision Of The Corn Spirit" by AEC

Street Art // Tuesday, May 07, 2013
We have made it very apparent for some time now that we are fans of all things relating to Interesni Kazki. Even this pen and ink drawing by AEC is post worthy. A very wild imagination AEC possesses of a world completely foreign to what we know..

Video: JR - INSIDE OUT - The People's Art Project TRAILER

Street Art // Monday, May 06, 2013
"This fascinating documentary tracks the evolution of the world's largest participatory art project, the wildly popular "Inside Out." Travel the globe with French artist JR as he motivates communities to define their most important causes by pasting giant portraits in the street, testing the limits of what they thought possible. In capturing the process, Alastair Siddons creates a glowing testament to the power of the image and the role that art can play in transforming lives." And in other JR news, the artist just installed a series of large eyeballs inside Rikers Island Jail! More on that soon.

New mural by Andrew Schoultz in San Francisco

Street Art // Saturday, May 04, 2013
The side of the local dive bar, Pops in the Mission District of San Francisco just got hooked up with this impressive mural by Andrew Schoultz. Over the last week Schoultz has been spending everyday painting this building... sounds more appealing than sitting at a computer all day when the weather has been as freakishly nice as it has been in San Francisco. If you want to see it in person, head down to 24th and York St. The piece was made in conjunction with Converse and Juxtapoz.

Video: Jim Power and the Mosaic Trail

Street Art // Friday, May 03, 2013
Started 1985, Jim Power, aka The Mosaic Man, has been creating mosaics on light poles in the East Village of New York as a way of documenting the history of the ever-changing neighborhood. As many as 80 have been decorated by Power, however many have deteriorated and been vandalized over recent years.  In an attempt to preserve these pieces, Power and his numerous supporters created an Indiegogo. They need your support to continue one of the longest ongoing public art projects in the world.
