Our good friend and contributor Henrik Haven just passed along image from a new public art festival in Denmark, Public Art Horsens, a festival that includes murals, sculptures, performance and installations created during the past week by artists Escif (Spain), Sam3 (Spain), Pøbel (Norway), Brad Downey (USA), Thomas Dambo (Denmark), and the Danish/Icelandic duo Örnduvald plus a bunch of local artists. Today, we have works by Sam3 and Brad Downey.

"Purity of Heart" in Denmark by El Mac

Three striking portraits grace the side of this orphanage in Denmark courtesy of the Los Angeles-based artist, El Mac. The new piece entitled “Purity of Heart” was influenced after Seren Kierkegaard’s book “Purity of Heart is to Will One Thing.” The artist is in Denmark for his exhibition at Galerie Wolfsen and had already completed another large mural previous to this one.

Taint x Unga in Haifa Port, Israel

Israel has a vibrant street art scene but nobody there paints quite like the members of Broken Fingaz. The multi-disciplinary street art collective has a number of members and is not solely restricted to street art, but also works in design, illustration and music. This piece in Haifa Port and was paint by members Taint and Unga.

Xuan Alyfe in Avilés, Spain

Xuan Alyfe recently completed this wall in Avilés, which is located in the Northern region of Spain on what looks to be the side of someone’s home. This new piece contains plenty of fine detail, stimulating design, and Arabic style lettering on the small garage door.

While in Detroit for his show “I’d Like to Meat You!” at Innerstate Gallery, Nychos got busy on some walls, one of the most stand out being his collaboration with Pursue. Together, the two dissected and sectioned Pursue’s “BunnyKitty.” Both artists continually use bunnies in their work, so the two working together seems naturally fitting and it sows with this piece.

2 new walls from Phlegm in Montreal

Participating in the Montreal Mural Festival, Sheffield-based artist, Phlegm, painted two considerably large walls, both with the theme of “tombstone makers.”
